Ethics Test-1 – Ethics preparation made easy through answer writing and RTW strategy. The objective of this program is to enable aspirants to score 130 plus in Ethics paper in CSE Mains. Ethics is one of easily scoring subject with minimal effort compared to all other GS papers. Most of the syllabus overlap with GS-2.

- All the questions are compulsory
- Duration is 1 hour 30 minutes
- Each question carries 10 marks and word limit is 150 words.
- State the three basic values, universal in nature, in the context of civil services and bring out their importance.
- Distinguish between “Code of ethics” and “Code of conduct” with suitable examples.
- What is mean by public interest? What are the principles and procedures to be followed by the civil servants in public interest?
- “The Right to Information Act is not all about citizens’ empowerment alone, it essentially redefines the concept of accountability. Discuss.
- What is meant by conflict of interest? Illustrate with examples, the difference between the actual and potential conflicts of interest.
- “In looking for people to hire, you look for three qualities: integrity, intelligence and energy. And if they do not have the first, the other two will kill you.” – Warren Buffett. What do you understand by this statement in the present-day scenario? Explain.
- “In doing a good thing, everything is permitted which is not prohibited expressly or by clear implication”. Examine the statement with suitable examples in the context of a public servant discharging his/her duties.
- With regard to the morality of actions, one view is that means is of paramount importance and the other view is that the ends justify the means. Which view do you think is more appropriate? Justify your answer.
- Suppose the Government of India is thinking of constructing a dam in a mountain valley bond by forests and inhabited by ethnic communities. What rational policy should it resort to in dealing with unforeseen contingencies
- Explain the process of resolving ethical dilemmas in Public Administration.
