World Food Day
World Food Day is a day of action dedicated to tackling global hunger.
The theme of World Food Day 2018 is ‘Our actions are our future – A zero hunger world by 2030 is possible’.

ECHS Polyclinic
First Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme (ECHS) Polyclinic in the remote high altitude area of Tawang in Arunachal Pradesh opened on 16 October 2018.
The ECHS polyclinic in Tawang was a long pending dream of Ex-Servicemen in Tawang district.
The scheme will provide quality medical care to all Ex-Servicemen and their dependents who could not travel upto the nearest ECHS facilities which were located approximately 350 Km away at Tezpur and Guwahati.
This polyclinic will also act as a nodal point for treatment of veterans in the empanelled super speciality hospitals in major cities of India.
Goa Maritime Symposium – 2018
The Goa Maritime Symposium – 2018, the second edition of the Goa Maritime Symposium (GSM) – a forum towards fostering friendly relations with the maritime neighbors.
The theme of the seminar, this year was “Building Stronger Maritime Partnerships in IOR”. The deliberations were focused on capacity building among IOR Navies to tackle emerging maritime threats, in addition to discussing cooperative strategies for enhancing interoperability among partner maritime agencies.
The international seminar was attended by delegates from many countries such as Bangladesh, Myanmar, Mauritius, Sri-Lanka, Singapore, Thailand etc.
Country specific deliberations by senior naval officers from all the participating countries were also held with active sharing of experiences, concerns and perspectives of their respective countries.
